A Plane Ride

‘Brought a friend?’ I guessed
was your way of saying hi
I smiled and let you go inside.
20A was your seat,
20B was mine.

Your bright brown eyes
Invited me to talk.
Seated side by side
Our minds went
For a little walk.

You told me a secret about LA,
California. Laughing, I face-palmed
at what I did hear.
In turn, with you,
I shared my greatest fear.

Hours went by.
The lights were out.
Others slumbered uncomfortably
But we were kept awake
By our aesthetic chemistry.

Because of you,
I had the best flight.
I like how we connect artistically,
How you stole my unlit night
painting it, instead, bright.

I am glad that we at all met.
And together embarked on our
Imaginary private jet.
You owe me a CBR ride, Twin B.
Don’t you ever forget. :)

Reasons

You want to love me greatly,
but you failed
For it’s nothing of my desire
To have my heart
by your head prevailed.
I am, by that kind of love,
uninspired.

Your love is too smart,
carved out of your sharp reasoning
its too complicated for my
slow, stupid heart.
I find your kind of love,
boring.

I only know of love
beautified by ardent passion.
I want not a majestic ruler,
but a sweet life companion.

You possess not what
my soul aspires.
Fold up your logical love, and leave
for my heart nor my soul
will you ever receive.
